Persian PR?

Iran just returned several abducted British Marines. They claimed, magnanimously, it was a 'gift to Great Britain...'

I guess we're supposed to say, "Wow! Thanks! This was SOOO unexpected...!"

Scary thought - was it all planned from the beginning? Did Iran do this so they could 'give back' to the world and show how generous and reasonable they are?

Scarier thought: how many westerners are going to believe it?

I'm ok with this!

If Nancy is going to do Conde's job, I think I'm ok with this! Don't forget to hand Conde the gavel while you're gone! :-D

Democrats fear: ___?___

What do Senate Democrats fear more?

    A. A Republican victory in the war on global Islamic terror? Or…

    B. An Al Qaeda victory in the war on global Islamic terror?

What do you think?

Shoulder your weapon

This morning on Bill Bennett’s radio program, Morning in America (http://www.bennettmornings.com), a caller relayed how his son, a soldier in Iraq, wondered if this war was not his generation’s Vietnam? The dad encouraged him and told him emphatically No, this war is not Vietnam. But in the quiet of his heart, he too, is beginning to wonder.

Bennett gave him this encouragement: “He’ll shoulder his weapon, you shoulder yours”

Wars have more than one front. I can’t think of a single war in America’s history lost by our military. Not even Vietnam. THEY WON the battle of SE Asia. WE, here at home, lost Vietnam.

The US military won it, and we, the media, the politicians, Hollywood and academia snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

We have our weapons to shoulder. Our words, our support, our encouragement. We can win this war if we don’t lose hope.

Iran: One big suicide bomber

Madeline Albright recently commented on the illegal Iranian capture of British troops in Iraqi waters, but her concerns seem to be different from mine. Her concern: that it could lead to “…an accident happening…”

Accident NUTS! I'm concerned about ON PURPOSE happening!

These guys WANT TO DIE, or die trying! They are provoking The West -- on purpose.

The mullahs and wacky leaders in Iran dream of one of two things:
1. a world dominated by their brand of radical retrograde Islamic culture of death
2. the whole world going up in one big ball of flame

Who can blame them? Either option is better than how they are living now.

I support the troops—send ’em home

I support the troops: Let’s bring ’em home. I’m also a big Denver Broncos fan—I do not want them playing football, so let’s send them home, too. I support local law enforcement, so I want them home as well. I'm also a big fan of Britney Spears,  Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan—make em all go home!!! I also support the Arts; let’s make all artists go home (because we support them, you see).

Oh, did I mention I support Nancy Pelosi?

Choose.

George W. Bush wants stricter abortion laws, to outlaw government-funded stem cell research, keep marriage between one man and one woman, reform immigration, reform social security, reduce taxes.

Al Qaeda wants to outlaw kite-flying, exotic birds, music, TV and card-playing. They want to make it illegal for women to drive, work, teach, expose their skin, or be seen in public without a male relative. They execute women who were raped.

You may not like GWB, but why is this a difficult choice?

The war does not end with our departure

If we pull US troops out of Iraq, the war does not end there. Like Vietnam, we simply lose that battle at the expense of thousands (millions?) of lives.

Islamo-fascists have been at war with us for 40 years – but we weren’t at war with them until 2001.  In fact, they have really been at war with US for 1400 years—if ‘us’ includes all who don’t kill innocents in the name of Allah.

I'm afraid that leaves me with two disturbing conclusions about our US Senate: 1) they don’t know who we’re at war with; or worse, 2) they know it and are using the war as a political opportunity to grab power.

As much as I don’t like what Senate Dems are doing, I don’t want to see them weeping on Al Jazeera, begging for their lives.
